Last night in Chennai

Tonight is my last night in the Ginger Hotel in Chennai. The part of Chennai I will miss the most is the juice bars every where. I can get a fresh pineapple juice for about $0.60. It is awesome.

One thing I will not miss is the hot and humid weather.

Our destination is Delhi, the starting point for our tour of the Golden Triangle. We will go from Delhi to Jaipur to Agra then back to Delhi. It is known as the Golden Triangle.

Agra is home to the Taj Mahal so expect some great pictures.

The 4th of July

We celebrated the 4th with apple pie, Budweiser, and fireworks. A big thanks to Autumn for baking the apple pie. She managed to put together a pie in a hotel room and bake in one of those large toaster/pizza ovens (the kind with the moving belt). It was delicious and there is nothing more American than apple pie.

Fireworks capped off a great day at the beach. Although it wasn't the same as being home, it was still fun to celebrate Independence Day in another country.

Kerala Part 3- Tea Country

Sunday we drove to Tea Country. Apparently tea is grown in the mountains. Along the way we stopped at a waterfall on the side of the road. Since it was monsoon season the waters were pretty intense.

We also encountered this very creepy guy who kept taking pictures with people in our group.

Kerala Part 2- Fort Kochi

On Saturday we visited Fort Kochin. We bought fresh seafood from the fish mongers and then took it to a shack up the road and they cooked all the food for us.

Kerala Trip Part 1- The Backwaters on a Houseboat

We left for Kerala on Thursday afternoon. It was beautiful.   Friday we rented a house boat and cruised around the backwaters. The crew of the boat cooked us lunch and dinner (all local seafood). It was a very relaxing vacation.
